Custom PVC Patches

If your crew works in harsh conditions, custom PVC patches are the ultimate choice. Made from durable, flexible rubber, these patches have a modern, three-dimensional look. This helps bold, minimal logos stand out.

The Jobsite Advantage: PVC is waterproof and mud-proof. If dust, grease, or grime covers a PVC patch, simply wipe it clean with a damp rag and it looks brand new.

How It’s Applied: Each CPH PVC patch has a recessed stitch groove around the edge. It is securely hand-stitched to your garment. It won’t pull off or separate, no matter how hard your team works.

Our Top Gear Recommendations:

  • Hats: Richardson 112 Truckers or 1010 Performance Hats paired with bold, simple company logos.
  • Apparel: Heavyweight outerwear like Carhartt hoodies from the Rain Defender line.

No glue, no shortcuts: Hand-stitching every PVC patch ensures your logo stays locked in place, shift after shift.

Custom Leather Patches

To communicate high quality and craftsmanship instantly, nothing beats custom leather patches. Pairing a real leather patch with a rugged Carhartt jacket or a classic beanie gives your brand a premium look. It shows clients you do not cut corners.

Genuine Leather vs. Performance Leatherette:

  • Genuine Leather: Available in 4 classic colors, this natural leather ages well over time. It develops a unique, rugged patina, like a good pair of work boots.
  • Performance Leatherette: A water-resistant hybrid material crafted with genuine leather fibers. Available in 14 colors, it offers highly consistent tones and faster turnaround times for tight deadlines.

The Jobsite Advantage: Our laser-etched designs burn your logo directly into leather or water-resistant leatherette. This option looks incredible and offers our fastest turnaround—delivering in as little as 2 weeks. Best of all, we don’t just glue or heat-press our patches. Our Raleigh team hand-stitches every leather patch onto your custom hats and apparel so they stay built to last.

Our Top Gear Recommendations:

  • Hats: The Richardson 112PFP is a 5-panel trucker version of the R112. It comes in camo patterns and blaze orange is best for higher visibility on the jobsite.
  • Apparel: Anything in classic Carhartt Brown, like the iconic Detroit Jacket, or paired with a Burnside Flannel Shirt.

Classic Fabric Patches: Woven vs. Embroidered

Fabric patches are a classic choice for traditional uniforms. They offer a timeless, lightweight look that moves with the garment. Because you can work one-on-one with a CPH designer, you can pick threads that match your brand colors or the gear you’ve selected.

Fabric patches help your team look cohesive from head to toe. We offer fabric patch options depending on your logo’s complexity.

Woven vs. Embroidered:

  • Woven Patches: Best for fine detail. Using ultra-thin, tightly woven threads, woven patches capture detailed logos, small text, and smooth gradients. They do this with high precision and lie flat for a sleek finish.
  • Embroidered Patches: Best for classic texture. Thicker threads sewn onto a strong backing create a rich, raised 3D texture. It delivers that iconic, retro mechanic-shirt look.
  • Have complex color gradients or photos? We also offer printed Sublimated Patches. We usually recommend simplifying your logo to 10 colors or fewer. This helps create a vibrant woven patch when possible.

The Jobsite Advantage: Fabric patch styles have a heavy-duty embroidered merrowed borders. This makes your patch sturdy and strong. Our team in Raleigh uses this merrowed border as a guide. We hand-stitch each patch securely onto your gear. This helps it stay firmly in place through the daily grind.

Our Top Gear Recommendations:

  • Hats: Richardson 112 Truckers, low-profile unstructured dad hats, or beanies for a clean, classic fit.
  • Apparel: Collared Red Kap work shirts, everyday crewneck sweatshirts, Fleece jackets and vests.

Direct Embroidery & Appliqués

If you want a smooth, borderless look, skip the patch background. Apply your logo directly to custom hats and apparel. It is a clean, professional option. We offer direct embroidery on classic workwear, as well as modern, high-tech appliqués for performance gear.

Direct Embroidery vs. Modern Appliques:

  • Direct Embroidery: For a timeless, classic look, direct embroidery stitches your logo right into the fabric. It works well on polo shirts, hoodies, and hats. It offers a rich, slightly raised texture and is best suited to bold, minimal designs.
  • TPU & Silicone Appliques: For detailed logos that still need a seamless look, these modern heat-pressed emblems offer sharp detail. Silicone provides a soft, matte feel, while TPU offers crisp edges without any background borders. You can also print TPU to capture all the details and colors of intricate designs.

The Jobsite Advantage: Direct embroidery uses high-density thread sewn into the material, so it stays put. Silicone appliques add almost no weight to light performance fabrics. They offer a flexible finish that is ideal for active workdays in the sun.

Our Top Gear Recommendations for Direct Embroidery:

  • Hats: Structured mid-profile trucker caps like the Richardson 112PFP or the Yupoong 6606.
  • Apparel: Heavyweight hoodies, traditional polo shirts, and softshell jackets.

Our Top Gear Recommendations for TPU & Silicone Appliques:

  • Hats: Seamless hats like the R112PFP or performance hats like the R258 or the 1010 Hats 615 Dryfit Snapback Cap.
  • Apparel: Silicone handles the frequent washes of activewear, polos, and UPF tees, while both TPU and silicone are ideal for heavier outerwear.

Bonus: Next-Level Finishing Touches & Extras

Want to make your gear look like a high-end retail brand rather than standard promotional wear? Adding small, tactical accents to secondary locations on your hats and apparel creates a polished, custom look.

  • Flat Woven Labels: If you love the iconic look of the logo tag on a Carhartt jacket, this is for you. Flat woven labels are thin, borderless woven tags applied flat to chest pockets, sleeves, or seamless 5-panel hats. (Pro Tip: You can bundle labeled hats and apparel together to qualify for our bulk tier discounts!)
  • Custom Clip Labels: These folded custom tags wrap around specific edges of your gear—like the bottom rim of a cap, above the back snapback, the folded cuff of a beanie, or the bottom hem of a sweatshirt.
  • Side & Accent Patches: Construction crews often ask for an American flag patch or a state flag patch on the side of a trucker hat. This is one of their most common requests.
  • Back Arch Embroidery: Add your city and state above the snapback opening. This gives 360-degree branding on the jobsite.

These extra details are what take your gear over the top, giving your brand a high-end, completely custom look from every angle.

Pro Tips: Design Rules for Construction Logos

When preparing your logo for custom patches or embroidery, keep these simple guidelines in mind:

  • Keep Text Legible: Patches and direct embroidery on headwear and apparel are relatively small. For maximum impact, limit text to the essentials—like your business name, established date, or location. Using state abbreviations helps save space. If your logo includes tiny taglines, opt for a Woven Patch to capture small details or simplify the text.
  • Leverage Contrast: If you choose leather, you get high contrast right away. The design is burned or stamped directly into the material. This creates a rich, darker tone against the lighter leather background. For other patch types, aim to use three main colors: a dark color, a neutral color, and a light color or white shade to make your design pop off the fabric.
  • Match the Patch Shape to the Gear:
    • Mid-Profile Hats (like the Richardson 112) accommodate round, rectangular, or hexagon patches easily.
    • Low-Profile Hats fit best with slender horizontal, diamond, or oval shapes.
    • Chest Pockets look cleanest with a rectangular patch that runs parallel to the pocket edge.
    • Apparel Sleeves are ideal for small diamond or square patches.
